I’ve written pieces for the Guardian for more than a decade now, covering anything from greening projects and road safety protests, to what autonomous vehicles mean for cycling and walking in cities. My latest articles can be found on my Guardian page, and below, in this handy RSS feed.

Cycling Plus Column

Illustration by Harry Tennant (who also illustrated my book cover)

I’ve been writing a monthly column for Cycling Plus magazine since March 2021. Each issue might be based in Bournemouth or Birmingham, Glasgow or Gogogoch, but it tells a universal story about the push to make better places to ride a bike.

In each instalment, I try to shine a light on the maddening hurdles and hypocrisy everyday cycling is up against and how it’s fighting back.
